The militants of the “West African province of the Islamic state” (ISWAP, banned in Russia organization, formerly known as “Boko Haram”) made a large-scale attack on the North Cameroon. Killing at least 88 people, including 16 civilians. About it reports Bloomberg with reference to the Ministry of defence of the country.
According to Al-Jazeera, the attack was attended by more than 300 armed terrorists. The army resisted: according to different data, in a shootout that lasted several hours, were killed from 64 to 84 Islamists, from 8 to 40 in captivity.

“Boko Haram” (translated into Russian — “Western education is forbidden”) are engaged in terrorist activities since 2009. Initially the group operated only in Nigeria, but then her supporters appeared in Niger, Chad and Cameroon. In 2015, the organization pledged allegiance to “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in Russia).
“Boko Haram” to organize attacks on Christian churches, military posts and police stations. In 2014 her supporters kidnapped 276 Schoolgirls, mostly from Christian families. Part of the hostages converted to Islam and forcibly married off.
According to estimates, which leads to Al-Jazeera, during the fight the group killed about 30 thousand people, millions had to leave their homes and flee from the terrorists.
