The Bank of Russia is considering launching its own digital currency. On Saturday, June 15, said the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina, reports TASS.
“Indeed, Central Bank, Digital Currency cannot be implemented immediately, however, many Central banks, including the Russian Central Bank is considering this possibility,” — said Nabiullina at the student conference in SKOLKOVO.
However, she stressed that the implementation of such projects requires a “Mature” technologies, including technologies of distributed registries. In addition, according to the head of the Central Bank, it is necessary to consider how society itself is ready to abandon cash in favor of “non-anonymous digital currency”.
In March it became known that the Bank of Russia plans to limit the amount that Russians annually spend on the purchase of scriptaction. Under scriptactive means any issued through the blockchain right (tokens), including securities, real estate, property, shares in companies and cash requirements. Presumably, the upper limit will set at the level of 600 thousand rubles a year.
