The former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on his page in Facebook said that the Ukrainian symbolism in Sevastopol appeared before the Russian.
Poroshenko noted that Sevastopol is celebrating the day of the city, and stressed that the history of this place “were different”. “But we know that Ukrainian Trident was seen there for a thousand years before Russian tricolor” — he wrote.
In addition, Poroshenko referred to the graduates in embroidered “under the supervision of the FSB”, as well as residents who refused Russian passports. “Sevastopol is Ukraine!”, — concluded the former President.
Crimea and Sevastopol became part of Russia according to the results of a referendum held in March 2014. Ukraine, USA, EU members and other countries do not recognize its results and consider the presence of the Peninsula as part of Russia’s occupation. Moscow insists that the accession process meets the norms of international law.
