Rapper Missy Elliott is included in the American Hall of fame songwriters (‘SHOF) in the framework of the 50th anniversary ceremony, reports ABC.
Elliott became the first female rapper to be awarded this prize. “I want to say one thing to writers and future writers: don’t give up”, — quotes the words of the performer edition. To Elliott in the video asked the former first lady of United States Michelle Obama. She thanked the artist “for ground-breaking music and protect many people.”
Earlier in’SHOF among the rappers were elected Jay-Z and Jermaine Dupree in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
Missy Elliott — the owner of five awards “Grammy” and the only rap performer, whose six albums have received platinum status by the American Association of record companies. Elliott participated in the recording of songs of Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Lil Mo, Ciara, Destiny’s Child and others.
Hall of fame songwriters — American public organization created in support of the honored composers and authors of popular songs in the United States and promising young talents.
