Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usik refused the title of world champion by the International Boxing Federation (IBF) in the first heavy weight. This was announced by his Manager Egis Klimas in Instagram.
“Mustache appealed to the IBF with a request to immediately give up the title. He thanked the IBF for the support and in the future will compete for the belt in the heavyweight division. Thus, the full championship title IBF will be available for the winner of the battle of Yunier Dorticos — Andrew Tabiti,” wrote Klimas.
6 Jun Mustache parted with the title of world champion in the first heavy weight under the version of the world Boxing organization (WBO) after the title of the world Boxing Council (WBC).
In March, Ukrainian boxer refused the same title by the world Boxing Association (WBA).
The last time the Moustache came out to the ring in November 2018 Mustache and knocked out the British Tony Bellew, retaining the title of absolute world champion in the first heavy weight. In this fight he defended his belt for the WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF. The Ukrainian boxer won 16 victories in his career.
Battle Dorticos — Tabiti took place on Saturday, June 15, in Riga in the 1/2 final of the world Boxing series (WBSS). The match ended with the victory of Dorticos. Thus, he gained the title of IBF and became the first finalist of the second season of WBSS.
