The Ambassador of Ukraine in Germany Andrey Melnik accused German politicians of betraying the Ukrainians. He declared it in interview to the newspaper Neue Osnabrucker Zeitung.
Criticism of the Ambassador was subjected to the Prime Ministers of the Federal States Stephan Weil and Manuela Sweig. Weil advocated the abolition of sanctions against Russia, and Sweig called for more active dialogue with Moscow. According to the Ambassador, the policy of a Pro-Russian position, and thus “destroy the credibility of Germany as a mediator”.
“Russia continues to conduct day and night of the bloody war against Ukraine,” said Ukrainian Ambassador, stressing that Moscow supported thus the call of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin “with impunity to pursue its aggressive policy.”
In may the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that Ukraine will renounce compliance with the Minsk agreements, if the representatives of Germany, France and other countries in the Council of Europe will achieve the lifting of sanctions with Russia. According to him, after Moscow began to give the residents of Donbass Russian passports, the sanctions against Russia can not be removed.
