The Russian defense Ministry stated that no change in timing of awarding the title of senior lieutenants graduates of civilian universities is not planned. About it reports TASS.
The Agency argues that no legal regulations or initiatives related to updating of the order of assignment of military ranks, will not. Period of military service with the rank of Lieutenant for the students of civilian universities will remain three years, as written in the article 22 of “Regulations about the order of passage of military service”.
Earlier, on 19 June, the newspaper “Izvestia” wrote that before the end of the year will be developed the documents according to which the graduates of civilian universities will receive the rank of Lieutenant two years after graduation. The new rule would equate them with the graduates of military schools.
At the moment, the period length of two years is only the soldiers who were in military educational institution on a full-time five years or longer. The Ministry noted that most of the universities that train graduates on military programs, assign them a qualification. Because of the five-year period of training and the fact that all this time the students are active military personnel, they may obtain the rank of Lieutenant two years later after the release.
Students who pass the training of officers in civil College, get a military status just after graduation, so the period of service in the rank of Lieutenant they have longer.
