The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin appealed to the countries “Big twenty” with the request to influence Russia to release Ukrainian sailors detained after the incident in the Kerch Strait in November 2018. He told about it in Facebook.

Klimkin sent a letter to the foreign Ministers of member countries of G20 and the European Union. “Call during the next meetings in Osaka to use all possible levers of influence on Russia to release Ukrainian sailors,” — wrote the Minister.

The politician reminded that on Tuesday, June 25, was the deadline for implementation of the decision of the International Tribunal for the law of the sea regarding the detained Ukrainian sailors, which the high court decided to release. He expressed hope that international partners of Ukraine will limit military cooperation with Russia, while Moscow does not fulfill the decision of the Tribunal.
