Sevastopol will turn into a city of students

Create in Sevastopol scientific-educational center (REC) will increase the share of high-tech sector of the regional economy and to attract to the city of students and young scientists. This was reported on the website of the government of Sevastopol following the results of meeting with participation of Governor Dmitry Ovsyannikov, the heads of the Executive authorities and experts.

As stated in the discussion, the Vice-rector of Sevastopol state University (Sevgi) Maxim Evstigneev, the creation of the REC will be a tool targeted support for the development of high-tech economy. Also, it will contribute to the growth of the gross regional product and the advent of a significant number of small and medium enterprises.

In addition, according to Evstigneev, due to the implementation in the project the REC there will be more to attract young professionals. “We see Sevastopol as a city of students, scientists, and city technological entrepreneurs,” he said, adding that it will also be able to change the age structure of the population of Sevastopol.

Guide Sevgi hopes that the University will create one of the scientific-educational centers under the national project “Science.” As previously reported TASS, the profile of the Sevastopol nots can become the exploration of the seas and coastal areas. The tender for the right of creation of such centers is planned for March 2020.

RECs are created in Russia within the Federal program “Development of scientific and scientific-production cooperation” of the national project “Science.” According to her, by 2024, the country must receive a minimum of 15 scientific and educational centers of the world level, 14 competence centres of STI, scientific and research centers. For the program it is planned to allocate 215 billion rubles.
