A member of Basayev’s gang has got 19 years in a strict regime for the attacks

The North Caucasus district military court convicted Aslan Yandiev, a member of the gang Shamil Basayev, and sentenced him to 19 years in a strict regime colony. On Friday, July 5, “the Tape.ru” reported in a press-service of the court.

Andieva charged under articles 205 (Terrorist act), 209 (“Gangsterism”) and 222 (“Illegal circulation of the weapon and explosives”) the criminal code of the Russian Federation.

On 3 July it was reported that the Prosecutor asked for his 20 years of imprisonment.

According to investigators, Aslan Yandiev in the middle of 2000-x years voluntarily joined the gang, organized by order of Chechenskoe militant Shamil Basayev and structurally is a member of the terrorist organization “Islamic state” (banned in Russia). From December 2005 to July 2006 he established near schools and organizations in Vladikavkaz, 11 explosive devices filled with shrapnel. As a result of explosions three persons were lost, 35 more got wounds of varying severity.

According to FSB of Russia, since 2010 Yandiev was hiding from prosecution, forged documents outside the border. He tried to be legalized in Switzerland, the Netherlands and other European countries. He was detained in Slovakia on 20 January 2011 and only seven years later, on July 17, 2018, transferred law enforcement bodies of Russia.
