Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy has sent an official letter to President Vladimir Zelensky to immediately sign the law on the procedure of impeachment of the President. About it reports “RBC-Ukraine”.
“Mister Zelensky, to inform you that you have no more right to veto the law, you can now only sign. If it gets vetoed, it would be a violation of the law. It creates a real parliamentary control in Ukraine. It was one of the promises during the election campaign,” — said the politician.
Zelensky he recalled that according to Ukrainian law, the President has 15 days after receiving of the law, to sign it or to return to the Parliament for reconsideration. This period was settled on 27 June.
Parubiy believes that now the law “is approved by the President of Ukraine and shall be signed and officially promulgated”.
Paruby signed the bill on the powers of Temporary commissions of inquiry (VSK), which will investigate the activities of the President in the event of the issue of his impeachment, 12 June.
Law on the office of VSK was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on June 6. His approval made it possible to launch the procedure of early dismissal of the President from power.
