Prime Minister of Tunisia Youssef Shahed banned citizens from wearing niqab — women’s Islamic headscarf which completely hides the face in public institutions. About it reports Reuters.

The reason for this decision called security issues: one week in the country was the terrorist attack three. The last of these was the suicide bombing on 2 July, a suicide bomber, earlier declared wanted. Eyewitnesses say that he was able to disguise with the niqab, the Ministry of internal Affairs have denied this fact.

Before that in the capital almost simultaneously there were two attacks. The aim of the attackers was the police: one attacked the patrol, the other to the police station. Responsibility for both attacks took Islamic state (a terrorist organization banned in Russia).

Tunisian women were allowed to wear the niqab in 2011. Before the ban was in force for decades — secular presidents of the country fought with all forms of traditional Islamic clothing. The ban on the headscarf covering the face, acts in several European countries — among them France, Denmark and Austria.
