Zelensky was appointed Governor of Lugansk region

The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has appointed Vitaly Komarnicki Governor of the Luhansk region. The corresponding decree published on the official website of the President.

“To appoint komarnyc’kiy Vitaliy Marjanovic head of Luhansk regional state administration”, — stated in the decree.

Before appointment to the post of Governor komarnicki was the rector of the Lugansk University of internal Affairs named after Didorenko. In 2010, he was elected to the Luhansk oblast Council from the Party of regions. Also it is associated with interior Minister Arsen Avakov.

Earlier komarnicki made for the legislative division of the population of Donetsk and Lugansk national republics (DND and LNR) in three categories in the case of regaining control of Kiev over their territories.

According to him, the soldiers of the militia DND and LNR should be held criminally responsible, civil servants — administrative, and the civilian population should be exempt from liability.

Part of the Lugansk region is not controlled by the Kiev and forms a self-proclaimed LNR, under the control of which is the capital of the region of Lugansk. The conflict in the South-East of Ukraine began in the spring of 2014 after the change of power in Kiev. Ukraine and Western countries accuse Moscow of involvement in the conflict, the Kremlin denies the charges.
