Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrey paruby considers the reaction of President Vladimir Zelensky on the idea of holding a teleconference between Russia and Ukraine is unacceptable. About it reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.
“This statement applies to the teleconference between Ukrainian channel and the Russian channel, which is banned in Ukraine. And the reaction should be understandable to the public and not spoofed calling for any negotiations,” he said.
A teleconference between Russia and Ukraine planned to be held on 12 July at 18:00 on air of TV channel “Russia 1” and NewsOne. However, later, the Ukrainian side refused the initiative because of “a massive information attack.”
In Ukraine criticized this idea. The nationalists have put before the President an ultimatum, saying that “such a disgrace in the Ukrainian air will not be exact”. Yulia Tymoshenko called the events an “information attack component of the hybrid war against Ukraine”. The security service of Ukraine initiated a meeting of the Council of national security and defence, and threatened the TV with sanctions.
Himself Zelensky said that the teleconference will serve as the division of the country into two camps. According to the head of the state, the situation politicians will use for their own PR and getting to the Verkhovna Rada. He believes that the Pro-Russian side will encourage Ukrainians to speak Russian and to forget about grudges because they are “brotherly Nations”, and their opponents start to be indignant and talk about how “the godfather confront [Russian President Vladimir] Putin.”
Together conduct the teleconference, he offered Putin to talk about “who and who is not in the Donbass” under the mediation of U.S. President Donald trump, Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, Prime Minister of great Britain Theresa may and French leader Emmanuel Macron.
