RTR found a way to hold a teleconference with Ukraine despite protests

The TV channel “Russia 1” invited the Ukrainian and Russian participants of the teleconference, “we Need to talk” the Studio channel in Moscow, reports TASS.

“For our part, we invite Russian and Ukrainian participants on 12 July, on Friday, in the Studio of the TV channel “Russia-1” in Moscow. Because we believe: “we Need to talk!”” — stressed in the press service of VGTRK.

Russian television noted that a teleconference with NewsOne thought for communication of ordinary people, not politicians, to “looking into each other’s eyes, to discuss what unites Russians and Ukrainians in the past and brings together in the present.”

Earlier on 8 July, the Ukrainian TV channel NewsOne was canceled scheduled for July 12, a joint teleconference with the Russian state channel “Russia 1”. According to employees, received direct threats of physical violence against journalists and their families.

The decision on a teleconference provoked sharp criticism in Ukraine. President Vladimir Zelensky called the proposal cheap but dangerous pre-election PR move. The Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine opened a criminal case on the attempted treason of NewsOne plans to hold a teleconference.

The program “Need to talk” on the evening of 7 July announced the TV presenter Dmitry Kiselev. From the Russian side leading had to be Andrey Malakhov and Maria Sittel.
