Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has approved a draft of the first private motorway in Russia, which would connect Europe and China. It is reported by family-owned Demyan Kudryavtsev, the newspaper “Vedomosti”.
According to the publication, the construction of the road “Meridian” with a length of almost two thousand kilometers will cost 600 billion rubles, while it needs to be built without public funds.

Medvedev instructed the Ministry of transport and Ministry of economic development to advise the initiator of the project — the “Russian holding company” — to attract investors, and together with the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of construction to support the project.
It is reported that the proponents have bought more than 80 percent of the land in the corridor of the future road and to begin construction they expect from the border with Kazakhstan.
