Plant “Krasmash” (Krasnoyarsk) performs works by lowering the cost of production of Intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) RS-28 “Sarmat”, reports TASS statement of the General Director “Rosatom” Dmitry Rogozin.
According to him, large machines and machining centres arrive at “Krasmash” in the near future. “The procurement of new machine tools. The machines we buy in the country,” said the Manager.
The head of the Corporation noted the need to reduce the cost of the unit RS-28 “Sarmat”. “The price should be reasonable, and the factory was in profit, but costs were minimal. And this is modern technology, good organization of work”, — said Rogozin.
The Manager also said that work on RS-28 “Sarmat” are on schedule. “We are test firing already. By the end of the year a significant part of the fire test is complete. We expect that by the end of next year we will reach the final stage of testing,” — said General Director of “Rosatom”.
In June, the military-technical forum “Army-2019” for the first time revealed the basic specifications promising ICBMs.
In April, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the RS-28 “Sarmat” has successfully passed the final stage of testing.
In March 2018, the head of state spoke about the future superweapon in the country: the strategic missile system RS-28 “Sarmat”, a cruise missile almost unlimited range of Burevestnik, unmanned underwater swimming apparatus “Poseidon” aircraft missile complex “Dagger”, a missile complex “Avangard” with a hypersonic glide with cruise and combat unit laser unit “Peresvet”.
