In Tajikistan from poisoning bread died 14 prisoners. It is reported TASS with reference to head Department of execution of criminal punishments (GUIN) of the Ministry of justice.
The incident happened July 7 — 128 prisoners were transferred from the Northern colonies to the Metropolitan correctional facility. During one of the stops between the cities of Khujand and Dushanbe, 16 people received three loaves of bread are divided among themselves. Their condition deteriorated already after half an hour, among the symptoms referred to as nausea, vomiting and dizziness.
The doctors managed to save only three prisoners, but one of them died in the morning. The condition of the two survivors at the moment is stable and the doctors say that their health is not threatened. 114 other prisoners got to their destination without any incidents. On the fact of poisoning was prosecuted, formed a special investigation team, appointed is judicial-medical examination. As noted in GUION, business is on control at the public Prosecutor of Tajikistan.
RIA Novosti, citing a source in the Prosecutor’s office notes that all of the victims of the prisoners were diagnosed with severe intoxication. According to one version, the bread could be contaminated with toxic mold fungus as a result of poor storage in hot weather.
In may in the Tajik colony of Vahdat town rioted. About 30 armed with knives man convicted of membership in a terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG, an organization banned in Russia), took hostage three prison guards and demanded release.
Later, among criminals there was a skirmish, and the revolt was suppressed. The colony administration took extreme measures and opened fire. In the incident, 32 people, including three guards, were killed.
