The foreign Ministry believe that the purpose of provocation — to undermine Russian-Georgian relations, but this incident is an example of the consequences of “unbridled Russophobia”. In the same report, however, notes the position of the Georgian authorities, who spoke with conviction of the presenter, and “righteous indignation” in Georgian society.

Earlier on 8 July it was reported that the incident reacted by the official representative of the foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. “That’s the trouble with Georgia,” she said in conversation with journalists.

The scandal provoked by the statement of the TV host Gabunia. On the evening of 7 July, he began production of the author of the program “PS” obscene abuse in the address of Putin. Gabunia Russian turned to the President of Russia, called it “stinky occupier”, said Putin and “his slaves” have no place “on our beautiful earth”, and insulted his deceased parents.

The President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili condemned the trick Gabunia. She said that such behavior runs counter to Georgian traditions and only contributes to the aggravation of relations between the two countries. Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze also criticized the TV presenter.
