Parliamentarians believe that the continued provocations on the part of “radical Georgian forces lead to further deterioration of bilateral relations.” The government has confirmed that it is preparing appropriate measures and be prepared to present them after the discussion with representatives of business and expert community.
After the development of the measures they proposed to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. In addition, prohibited flights between the two countries.
The decision concerning restrictive measures was adopted by the Russian establishment in the wave of anti-Russian protests, which were provoked by the visit of Russian parliamentarians to Georgia. The reason for the protests was the speech of the Russian Deputy who sat in the chair of speaker of the Georgian Parliament in the course of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy.
