Spanish private security Agency, which was responsible for security in the Embassy of Ecuador in the UK in the years 2012-2018, led surveillance of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. It is reported by El Pais.
The newspaper was able to obtain materials proving video and audio surveillance to a private company Undercover Global S. L. the footage was recorded meetings online whistleblower with his lawyers and other visitors. From these data, the newspaper found out about the plans of the associates of Assange to bring him in disguise from the Embassy and send to Russia, or Cuba. They were thwarted because of the refusal of the Australian.
It is noted that the suspicions Assange on surveillance ultimately forced him to conduct the most important meeting in the ladies room, which he considered most reliable. Now the security company refuse to confirm their action on monitoring.
Assange is now serving a prison sentence in the UK for breach of bail. To 50 weeks imprisonment in may, it sentenced a court in London.
June 3, the court in Sweden rejected the request on the correspondence arrest of Assange on the rape case. The investigation on him ceased in may 2017 and resumed in April 2019.
In may, the U.S. Department of justice filed against the founder of WikiLeaks 17 new charges. Washington has accused him of violating the espionage act. Later, the British authorities were sent a formal request for his extradition.
