According to one of organizers of an action against LGBT Guram Palavandishvili, his supporters managed to achieve their goal and prevent the conduct in Tbilisi LGBT pride. According to him, the protesters want to leave, because to stand at the Parliament was not their goal. “De-occupation and Gajaria I’m not interested,” said Palavandishvili, adding that they organized a protest can move to the house Bidzina, “so as not to interfere with the action against the de-occupation”.

In the night from 8 to 9 July in Tbilisi, at the same time passed at once four protest actions. Two of them took place on Rustaveli Avenue. Some activists demanded the resignation of the interior Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia, others spoke out against the LGBT community. Law enforcement officers placed a police cordon and blocked the road to separate protesters, but they still clashed.

During the protests, the protesters pelted each other with bottles, and one of the participants of anti-Russian actions was injured and was hospitalized with a broken belt buckle head. The cause of the collision, according to some, was that several participants of anti-Russian rally joined the campaign opposing the gay parade.
