According to the investigation, in 2016 Denis ResMed — owner of a crab boat “Shumshu-107” — decided to send him on poaching in the Bering sea. To control the crew, who was not supposed to give themselves to the border guards of the FSB, RESNET invited to the ship’s former intelligence officer Andrew Olesko.
After the flight of Olesko suspected cooperation with law enforcement authorities of one member of the crew, whose name was not called. When the ship came into a South Korean port of Busan, Reset and Ulezko, according to investigators, the victim was forced to admit in confidential cooperation with the FSB.
At the same time they “threatened [the victim] with physical violence, suppressed [his] will to resist”. Thereafter, the defendants planted the alleged agent on the coast, and the audio recording of his confession 26 Dec 2016 Reset sent to the border Department of the FSB in the Primorsky territory.
ResMed made a statement about the possible disclosure of information constituting a state secret. Probably, therefore, the businessman hoped that his and Olesko get rid of a failed agent, but it turned out otherwise. In July 2017, against them criminal case under article 283.1 (“Illegal receipt of information constituting a state secret”) of the criminal code.
In August 2017 Reset and Olesko was arrested by the court and placed in jail-1 in Vladivostok. July 8, Primorsky regional court sentenced both defendants to three years in a General regime colony. The prisoners believe that the victim supplied the information not the FSB of Russia, and their competitors for catching crabs. Protection Remeta and Olesko intends to appeal the verdict.
