The Committee denied the plans to build the Southeast Expressway at the site of the Moscow factory of polymetals radioactive waste. It is reported RIA Novosti with reference to the representative of the Committee.

According to the Agency, the architectural Committee confirmed as a fact of passage of a line through the territory of the Moscow plant of polymetals and the fact that caught in the border layout of the road area is “areas with special environmental conditions.”
In the preparation of project construction will be conducted all necessary research, including the assessment of radioactive background, assured the representatives of the Department.
The construction of the Southeast Expressway at the site of nuclear waste disposal became the subject of intense public debate in the first half of 2019. It was about 270-foot bridge across the Moscow river, which, according to the chief architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov, must be completed by the end of 2022.
In April, the enterprise “radon” jointly with the MOE conducted an inspection of the plant, showed that the radiation background at some points exceed any tolerable figures hundreds of times. In July, the information got in the media, which caused further public outcry.
