Russia initiated a dispute with the United States in the world trade organization (WTO). It applies to us anti-dumping duties against imports of Russian hot-rolled steel, says the website of the WTO.
The Russian side believes that the measure of anti-dumping duties in the amount of 184,56 percent used since the end of December 2014, do not comply with the WTO agreement.
US actions, in the opinion of the Russian delegation, “nullify or impair the benefits accruing to Russia, directly or indirectly, from this agreement.”
Referred to anti-dumping duties were imposed by the American side in 1999. They are designed for the non-market economies, however, entered into force only in 2014, when Russia became a WTO member.
