The Moscow garrison military court (MGSS) detained the former Deputy chief of the Internal troops of the MIA of Russia Vyacheslav Varuka on a new criminal case. On Thursday, July 11, according to “Kommersant”.
According to the newspaper, Warchala returned to jail from prison, where he was to serve his sentence. The investigators of the Military investigation Department (APU) indicted former zamglavnogo new charge under part 6 of article 290 (“bribe reception in especially large size”) and parts of 3 articles 286 (“Excess of powers of office with causing of heavy consequences”) the criminal code of the Russian Federation.
19 July 2018 MGSS Varuka sentenced to six years in strict regime colony and a fine of 20 million rubles for bribery. Also, the defendant was deprived of the title of Lieutenant-General and the right to occupy posts in public authorities for three years.
The court and investigation found that from December 2015 to February 2016 Varchuk through his Deputy Alexandr Kostin received from the staff of the office of communications and automated command and control of the chief of staff of Internal troops of the MIA of Russia for a total of 10 million rubles. The money was intended for a positive decision on the allocation of the management of additional funding.
Costin was convicted for mediation in bribery on four years of probation. His case was considered in a special order, which provides for full admission of guilt by the defendant, and sentencing without evidence.
Varchuk awarded the order of Friendship, medal of the order “For merits before Fatherland” II degree, has the honorary title “Honored economist of RF”, candidate of sociological Sciences.
