The Minister of resorts and tourism of the Republic of Crimea Vadim Volchenko warned travelers about the dangers of fraudulent websites for booking rooms in hotels and boarding houses. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
The Ministry has received 36 complaints from frustrated travelers who paid for the booking online. Seven fake sites are blocked. “A fraudulent scheme operates through the creation of websites of non-existent pensions or fraudulent websites, where under the pretext of high discounts offer tourists to pay one hundred percent payment”, — said Vladimir Volchenko.
The Minister advised tourists to be careful to the proposals wholly-prepaid and advised to directly call the representative of the property. According to officials, information about booking you can also check on the official website of the hotel or in authorized travel agencies. Vladimir Volchenko assured tourists that the situation with Internet scams is under the control of his Department.
Earlier it was reported that the press service of the Ministry of resorts and tourism of Crimea have listed the main complaints of tourists travelling around the Peninsula. Travelers disappoint the sanitary condition of the embankments and beaches, ethics and culture, maintenance, and illegal actions of photographers animals. The dissatisfaction of tourists in Crimea also cause noise in recreational areas, the construction work in the holiday season and accommodation is not appropriate as stated in the advertisement.
