The territory of the “Moscow plant of polymetals”, which will be held on the South-East chord, does not constitute a radiation hazard. This was reported on the website “United ecological and technological and scientific research center for neutralization of radioactive waste and environmental protection (FSUE “radon”).
According to the enterprise, on the territory of the plant is carried out radiation survey and decontamination activities, which identified seven local contaminated sites.
The “Radon” it is confirmed that prolonged exposure to these areas can be dangerous for your health. In the company emphasize, that the sources of contamination are fenced barrier with tape and marked with warning signs.
At the same time in adjacent to the plant site areas and in neighboring areas of the Kashirskoye motorway signs of radioactive contamination have been identified. Indicators of water and bottom sediments of the Moscow river are also in the normal range.
Contaminated sites are planned cleaning works. “The assessment of the potential number of removed waste volume and ways of providing decontamination works”, — is spoken in the message of the FSUE “radon”.
The construction of the Southeast Expressway through the territory of the “Moscow plant of polymetals” has attracted wide public attention in relation to the risk of radioactive contamination. According to the chief architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov, the 270-foot bridge across the Moscow river, and construction affected areas of the plant should be completed by the end of 2022.
