In the Federation Council discussed large-scale “moral war” waged against Russia. About it reports “Kommersant”.

According to the Commission of the Federation Council on the protection of sovereignty, “the moral war” — “it is a carefully planned provocation, the roots of which go far beyond the ocean.” The situation in Georgia is one example of such a war, the essence of which was to create tension at the borders of Russia, convinced the members of the Commission.

“Outwardly, it sometimes looks like the events that take place in foreign lands: Ukraine, Greek Athos, or in Georgia, but the links of one chain”, — said the first Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Andrei Klimau.

Another manifestation of the “moral war” — attempts to discredit the Russian Orthodox Church, Washington. “I stress that this issue is not a religious, it is purely a secular issue. Religion is used to mask” — said the MP.

In response, the head of the Center for the study of problems of religion and society Institute of Europe RAS Roman Lunkin suggested “to beat the enemy with his own weapon”. In his opinion, it is necessary to create a nonprofit organization to the canonical territory of the ROC, which would work for the preservation of Russia’s sovereignty beyond its borders.
