Court in the Italian city of Pavia has sentenced a Ukrainian national guardsman Vitaly Marcia to 24 years in prison for his involvement in the deaths of Italian photojournalist Andrea Rockelli in the Donbas in may 2014. It is reported by Rai News.

Prosecutors asked for the 29-year-old Marcia a total of 17 years in prison: 16 years due to the lack of a criminal record and his good conduct during the arrest, plus a year for the violation of the killing of the French reporter who was in the combat zone along with Rochelle. The defence requested complete acquittal, insisting that the Ukrainian has not committed any crime. He was the only defendant in this case.
