Zelensky pardoned a convicted prisoner in Russia

The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has signed a decree pardoning Sergei Litvinov, who was convicted in Russia. About this on his page in Facebook said the Deputy head of the Ministry of justice Sergei Petukhov.

“Signed a decree on the immediate release of Sergey Litvinov with Dikanevsky a penal colony. Physical release will happen when the documents arrive in the colony, it should happen soon. Keep the situation under control,” wrote cocks. He also published a photo of the order of the Ministry of justice on the prisoner’s release.

In the summer of 2014 the Russian side has accused the average Ukrainian volunteer battalion “Dnepr” Sergey Litvinov in the killing of several civilians in the combat zone in the Donbass. According to investigators, Litvinov came on Russian territory independently under the guise of a civilian to receive medical treatment in a hospital in Rostov region, where he was arrested.

In April 2016 the Tarasovskiy district of the Rostov oblast court sentenced Litvinov to 8.5 years in a penal colony for robbery with a weapon the citizen of Russia. In March 2019, the Russia gave the prisoner to the Ukrainian side. Since Litvinov was serving a sentence in Dikanevsky colony №12 of the city of Kharkov.
