In Turkey, the court sentenced to a prison term blogers for the post in social networks about drugs. As reported by Hurriyet, it is also required to pay a fine at 66.6 thousands of Turkish Lira (732,5 thousand).
Popular Turkish blogger Pinar karagez (Pınar Karagöz), aka Pucca, was sentenced to five years and 10 months in prison on charges of “incitement to drug use”.
In December 2018, she replied to one of the comments on Twitter during a discussion of the series “Narco” about the Colombian drug dealer Pablo Escobar. Then karagez wrote that because of the difficult economic situation in Colombia, hundreds of thousands of people earn their living by selling drugs.
Lawyer blogers title the Ali Furkan (Furkan Ali Tatlı) said “Bi-bi-si” that would appeal to the court. According to him, Turkey “pedophiles and rapists get a lesser punishment” than the girl who wrote the tweet about the drugs.
Blogger reacted to the decision of the court in his Instagram account. During the broadcast Pucca cried and remembered that even Escobar has not received such a prison sentence.
In June, Spanish YouTube-blogger of Chinese descent Cangue Ren, known under the name ReSet, got 15 months in prison for mistreatment of the homeless.
