Saakashvili refused to be “Prime Minister for hire” for Moldovans

Former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili decided to refuse the proposal of the Prime Minister of Moldova, Maia Sandu “to lead a team of reformers” in Chisinau. He declared it in a course current-show “the Opposition” on TV channel “Ukraine”. The recording is available on YouTube.

“Her [Sandu] predecessor and some guys offered me to become even the Prime Minister of Moldova. To which I said that I was not Prime Minister at the call, with all due respect to the Moldovans, and I’m going to have to deal with thieves where I live,” — said the politician.

Saakashvili said that “the guys from his team,” can really go to Chisinau, but he prefers to remain in Kiev and to participate in the political struggle in Ukraine.

Earlier it became known that she wants to bring Saakashvili to reform in the country. She expressed the opinion that his team will give “skilled advice on how to reform of the Moldovan system of justice and Prosecutor’s office”.

However, she stressed that currently in the budget of sufficient funds to pay for the services of a team of Saakashvili. A plan with his involvement as a consultant can be made only in case of receipt of financial aid from abroad.

Saakashvili was President of Georgia from 2004 to 2013. In may 2015, is the fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko gave the Georgian policy of the Ukrainian citizenship, and appointed him Chairman of the Odessa regional state administration. This position, Saakashvili held a year and a half, then moved in opposition to the previous President. In the summer of 2017, Poroshenko deprived Saakashvili of citizenship, and in February 2018 Ukrainian security services detained him, were expelled from the country and banned until 2021.

After assuming the position of head of state Vladimir Zelensky returned Saakashvili Ukrainian citizenship.
