The authorities of the Peninsula intend to attract to the region travelers wishing to reach the North pole. This was reported on the website of the administration of Taimyr Dolgan-Nenets municipal district, citing a local Chapter of Eugene Vershinin.
The publication said that officials have ambitious plans in the field of development of regional tourism, primarily due to the launch in 2019 routes in the Arctic. So, on behalf of the Governor of Krasnoyarsk region Alexander USS in the village of Khatanga will create a transit and tourist center, and in 2020 there will be organized tours of the trial.
“Due to the complicated logistics is a complicated issue, but quite promising. Khatanga will become a transit point where you will prepare and then send people to the North pole. The period in which small — only two months, but I’m sure this trend will become very popular,” said Vershinin. He added that the number of travelers in the season — 300-500 people.
Earlier in the Taimyr Peninsula was going to develop ethno-tourism through the creation of new tooriistavabrik projects. Also in the future, the district will create a tourist cluster, “Arctic”, created a plan for creating tourism infrastructure on the Putorana plateau.
