About 10 million Russian citizens renting residential property, and 49 percent of them intend to stay in rented apartments or rooms, at least in the next two years. This is evidenced by the materials published on the website of the National Agency for financial studies (NAFI).
Almost every tenth Russian (9%) currently rents a home, found analysts. Most (13-16 per cent) proportion of tenants — young and middle-aged people (25 to 44 years).
Rental property monthly cost the Russians on average 12 thousand roubles. The third pays owners up to 10 thousand rubles a month, 17 percent — more than 20 thousand per month. In Moscow and St. Petersburg the average payment for an apartment or a room above 22 thousand rubles, noted in the materials NAFI. The majority of the interviewed experts of the tenants said they plan to continue to rent: 34% will remain tenants even during the year, 19 percent within two years, 14 percent agreed to maintain the status of a tenant for another three years, 6 percent four or five years. Every tenth is going to live in a rented square meters six years or more.
