The chief Prosecutor of the National Prosecutor of the Netherlands Fred vesterbeke stated that he is annoyed by the fact that the former Minister of defence self-proclaimed Donetsk people’s Republic (DNR) Igor Girkin, better known under the name Shooters, is on the loose, despite the status of a suspect in the case of a catastrophe Malaysian “Boeing” over the Donbas. It is reported by the Dutch newspaper NRC.
“It’s bad, it’s frustrating me. Of course, you would prefer that such person was under arrest,” the Prosecutor said during the meeting with the relatives of those killed in the crash.
At the same meeting Westerbeke involved in the joint investigation team, said that still may not disclose evidence of Russia’s involvement in the crash. According to him, they will be granted only at the trial, due to begin in March 2020.
On 17 July it will be five years from the date of death of Malaysian “Boeing” in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. During this period the international investigation concluded that the plane was shot down by a missile complex “Buk”, and announced the names of four suspects. Their number included, in particular, a retired FSB Colonel Strelkov, who left Donbas in August 2014 and more there did not return. He later became an expert on radio and in the media, lives in Moscow, leads a public life.
The disaster killed 298 people. All parties involved in armed conflict in the Donbass, have denied involvement in the incident.
