Replacing the paper e-passports will occur by 2024 and will be carried out in stages. This was stated by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, reports RIA Novosti.
“By 2024, the Russians should make full use of the electronic passport, now we have to deal with the options,” — said the head of government. According to him, the old passport will also be below the transition was for the Russians “comfortable and painless.” He added that there is a proposal to start replacing passports before the original deadline. So maybe the transition to electronic passports will begin in 2023.
In this regard, Medvedev noted that “we need finally to decide what is the best type of this document, this document should contain, of course, as it will be protected.”
“If you just give the card and tell about its advantages, would not make sense. Many people, especially in humans, for example, age is a certain distrust of the technical innovations of this kind. This should be treated with care and respect,” — said Medvedev.
The Prime Minister said that the enterprises of microelectronics in Russia expressed readiness to supply chips for electronic passports in order to protect the personal data of Russians from hacking and manipulation.
In may it became known that the Russian Pension Fund 100 percent digitized the employment record of the Russians. The institution noted that performed the work, without waiting for adoption by the state Duma a draft law on electronic employment records. As planned by the Ministry of labor, electronic labor will become mandatory from 2021.
In the framework of the national project “Demography” is planned to increase the period of active longevity and healthy life expectancy of Russians. This will create a system of long-term care for the elderly and disabled. The existing organization of social services will be repaired, new ones will be built according to world standards. Citizens of preretirement age will be free to learn new skills, vocational training on the basis of universities and colleges. A national project designed in the years 2019-2024, its total budget amounted to 3.1 trillion rubles.
