In the first half of 2019, compared to the same period last year, retail sales of vodka in Russia decreased by 0.3 percent, to 34.3 million decaliters. About it reports “Interfax” with reference to the representative of the National Union of consumer rights protection. Compared to June of 2018, sales of vodka decreased by 1.9 percent.
The volume of retail sales of alcoholic beverages (with alcohol content not exceeding 9 percent) for the first half of this code has increased by almost a quarter (24.1%) and amounted to 2.7 million decaliters.
In total the volume of retail sales of alcohol (excluding beer made from it drinks) from the beginning of the year rose 1.5 per cent to 99,8 million decaliters. In June it sold 16.6 million decaliters.
In June, the research company Nielsen concluded that Russia’s growing sales of vodka, in containers of small volume — 0.1 or 0.25 liters. This segment accounts for 23 percent of the total market. The participants noted that buyers are forced to either move to cheaper alcohol, either for a smaller amount.
