Former head coach Lugansk “Dawn” Yuri Vernidub spoke about the Ukrainian players, who move to Russian clubs. His words leads Xsport.
Vernidub thought about the players of Zorya, who chose the Russian clubs. “I just didn’t understand them. Understand them in one short life — sports, everyone wants to earn money and to feel normal, but not everything is measured by money and, above all, must be thinking, heart, and understanding of the situation”, — he said.
According to the coach, the Ukrainian players have a lot to lose with the departure to Russia. “Run for money, throwing everything… they must understand that renounce national team”, — he added.
In January 2019, the Ukrainian defender Yaroslav Rakitskiy has moved from Shakhtar Donetsk to St. Petersburg “Zenith”. After moving to Russia, it ceased to cause in a national team.
Vernydub was named the best coach of Ukraine in 2018. From 2012 to 2019, he was the head of “Dawn”, which won the bronze medal in the championship of the country. From 1997 to 2000, the Ukrainian played for Zenit St. Petersburg as a player.
