The amendments relate to the work of the Supreme court anti-corruption, confiscation of illicit assets of officials and employees of public authorities and penalties for violation of the procedure of import of vehicles from abroad.
In early June, Zelensky has been submitted to the Parliament a bill on the punishment for illegal enrichment. The document assumes the penalty of imprisonment from 5 to 10 years and prohibition to hold certain positions for misappropriation of the assets of in excess of 900 thousand hryvnias (more than 33 thousand dollars), or 500 minimum. Parliament refused to consider it.
The article of the Criminal code on illicit enrichment was abolished on the 26th of February this year. The constitutional court found that it violates the presumption of innocence. After that, the U.S. Ambassador and the head of the EU delegation in the country was sent to the relevant Committee of Parliament the letter with the requirement to review all registered draft laws on this subject, and the International monetary Fund started to think about revising agreements on lending to Kiev.
