Lasting peace in Europe is possible only under condition of cooperation with Moscow. This was stated by foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas, RIA Novosti reported, citing his press service.
He stressed that the dialogue with Russia, despite “fundamentally different views” on many issues. “Without Moscow we will not be able to respond to urgent issues of world politics. And we will achieve lasting peace in Europe only if we work together,” stressed Maas.
It is noted that Haas and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov will take part in Russian-German forum “Petersburg dialogue”, which will be held on 18-19 July in the cities of Königswinter and Bonn.
On 15 July the former Minister of the office of the Chancellor of Germany Ronald Pofalla explained the necessity of the gas pipeline “Nord stream-2” for Europe. According to him, this project is one of the most ecological and profitable method of natural gas supplies to the continent, so the European Union will not be able to stop its implementation.
