The head coach Petersburg “Zenith” Sergei Semak spoke about the future of striker Alexander Kokorin in the club. His words are quoted by Sport24.
Semak said that it is difficult to follow the life of Kokorin, as it has no access to the player. “I’ll be glad if he would rather come back to us and sign the contract,” said the coach.
On 13 June, the Moscow city court sentenced Kokorin a half years of imprisonment in a General regime colony, midfielder “Krasnodar” Pavel Mamaev to one year and five months. The players were transported to a single colony in the Belgorod region.
Both athletes were in jail “Butyrka” from October 2018. Their detention has been repeatedly extended. Last fall, the players become the instigators of two fights in the center of Moscow.
In the last season of the Russian Premier League Kokorin took part in three matches of “Zenith”, after being on the field a little more than 70 minutes. The football player’s contract with the club expired on 30 June 2019.
