Zelensky gave citizenship to those who fought for Ukraine the Russians

The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has granted Ukrainian citizenship to those nine foreigners, including five Russians. The corresponding decree published on the website of the President.

Among Russians of Ukrainian citizenship were: Nikita Makeev, Andrew Cofnerence, Sergei Gnoevoy, Alex Sivuhin and Dmitry Fomin. The last two have outstanding service to Kiev. “The citizenship of Ukraine adopted by Dmitry Fomin, who participated in the professional development, training and provision of essential equipment military doctors of the Armed forces of Ukraine in conditions of military actions”, — have informed in a press-service Zelensky.

What marked Alex Sivokhin, not specified. However, they added that these persons took part in the defense of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

In addition to the Russians, citizens of Ukraine were the Belarusians Sergey and Denis Prokhorov, Georgian Nugzar Kandelaki and Moldavian Stanislav Gibadulin.

July 17, Vladimir Zelensky was commissioned to develop a simplified mechanism for obtaining passports for ethnic Ukrainians from “friendly countries seeking to join the development of their historical homeland”.

Order Zelensky was a response to the signing by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin the decree on simplified obtaining Russian citizenship by all inhabitants of Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine. According to the document, to apply for the issuance of Russian passports in a simplified manner can the citizens of Ukraine and persons without citizenship having permission for temporary residence or residence permit in Russia, and a refugee certificate or a certificate of temporary asylum.
