Courts in the Netherlands and Luxembourg rejected the appeal of “Gazprom” in the framework of the dispute “Naftogaz of Ukraine” on the compulsory collection of $ 2.6 billion with Russian companies. This is stated in the message on the website of “Naftogaz”.
Clarifies that the court of Amsterdam took this decision on 8 July. Any other details in the Ukrainian company failed.
In February 2018, the Stockholm arbitration court ruled by mutual claims of “Naftogaz” and “Gazprom”. Ukrainian company ordered to pay $ 2.2 billion, Russian — 4.7 billion. As a result of addition of the requirements of Gazprom owes Naftogaz 2.6 billion.
The Russian company has tried to challenge this decision. Court of appeals district of Svea in Sweden has appointed the hearing of the appeal of “Gazprom” in October of this year.
Naftogaz, in turn, is seeking the arrest of property of the Russian company abroad for the purpose of its further forced sales. The relevant processes are “approximately six jurisdictions”, including the Netherlands, Switzerland and the UK.
