Strange white animal, which was noticed in the American city of Kennebunkport, Maine, turned out to be a rare porcupine albino. This publication reports the Miami Herald.
The unusual creature resembling an animated gray wig, drew the attention of the visitors to the local railway Museum. Unlike conventional porcupines, he didn’t have the characteristic long needles on the back. In addition, it was smaller in size.
According to General opinion, lack of rigid needles may be due to the fact that this is not an adult animal and the baby. They are born with soft quills, which harden. For the same reason it’s so small. As for color, it is due to albinism — congenital absence of melanin pigment. It is known that for every ten thousand porcupines, one is born albino.
In July it was reported that the inhabitant of the British city of Southampton filmed a strange creature, resembling a thick worm with rat tail. Its length was about 13 inches.
