Salia noted that the financial situation of the broadcaster was worse than he expected. He promised to discuss with the owner of “Rustavi 2” proposal to establish a public Council, which will monitor the personnel issue at the network.

Earlier, on July 14, it was reported that Gabunia was replaced by another journalist. This is evidenced by the video program from July 14 on the channel’s website. The house of the journalist has hung up the infamous sign. According to his neighbors, he hired a security as against him it is regular meetings.

Swearing Gabunia to the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, provoked a negative reaction in Moscow and in Tbilisi. Despite this, the management of “Rustavi 2” has refused to dismiss a journalist, removing it from the air for two months.
