Acting Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov has instructed to intensify efforts to fight unauthorized dumps. On Monday, July 22, reports TASS.
According to beglova, in particular, it is necessary to work directly with the owners of the territories, and to oblige them to do the cleaning. “We need to know when they will clean up their territory. If not, then fine, until the institution of criminal proceedings”, — said the acting Governor at a meeting with members of the city government.
He also urged the heads of districts of St. Petersburg to create the system of monitoring of urban areas and to adopt a number of measures that would have prevented the occurrence of spontaneous dumps. So, according to beglova, to improve the situation by installing images and concrete barriers, as well as attracting public patrol.
As explained by the head of the city, thanks to the efforts of activists on the territory of 13 districts were identified 36 unauthorized dumps. Eight of them have already been eliminated.
According to TASS, this year in St. Petersburg, has identified about 500 landfills. The draft of the city budget stipulates the allocation of one billion roubles to eliminate them.
