The first bills of the Parliament of the ninth convocation will include the status of deputies of the Parliament. This was stated by the leader of the winning parliamentary elections in Ukraine party “servant of the people” Dmitry Razumkov, transfers “LEAGUE.News”.
We are talking about the adoption of laws on the lifting of parliamentary immunity, changing the standing orders of the Parliament, the mandates of the deputies and the punishment for not personal vote or “knopkodavstvo”. In addition, the Razumkov promised to consider the bills on the core areas that “require rapid response of the Parliament”.
Since the inauguration of the new President Vladimir Zelensky, the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation has not supported any of his bills, including bills on parliamentary immunity, and illicit enrichment. Usually they have not even been in the agenda since their introduction in the agenda, supported less than 226 deputies, whose votes are needed to begin consideration of the bill in Parliament.
Early elections to the Verkhovna Rada were held in Ukraine on July 21. Vladimir Zelensky announced them on the day of his inauguration on may 21, explaining the record low level of public confidence in Parliament.
The total turnout amounted to 49,87% of the voters. After processing 60 percent of the ballots Pro-presidential party “servant of the people” can form a single-party majority, having received 249 out of 450 mandates.
