The volume of state funding of parties after the elections to the Verkhovna Rada

The party of President Vladimir Zelensky in the next five years will receive from the state budget over 2.5 billion hryvnia (about 97 million dollars). About it writes the edition “Gromadske”.

According to Ukrainian law, the party that the parliamentary elections secured the support of more than two percent of voters, for five years receives state funding for party activities. The amount of funding depends on the level of popular support in the elections.

Based on the data of the national exit poll, which largely coincide with the results of the elections after 50 percent of the ballots, the publication has estimated the volume of state funding for each political forces. It will be able to count 11 parties.

Every year batch of “public Servant” will receive 537 million ($20 million). Second-ranked “the Opposition platform For life” will be able to count on 141 million UAH each year ($5.5 million). The party of ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, “the European solidarity” and “Fatherland” will receive in the region of 100 million hryvnia per year (3.8 million dollars). The smallest amount of funding of those who passed to the Verkhovna Rada political forces would have led by musician Svyatoslav Vakarchuk of the party “the Voice” — about 75 million hryvnias per year ($2.9 million).

State funding will also receive six more parties that are not passed in the Parliament, but gained more than two percent of the vote. We are talking about parties “Strength and honor” Igor Smeshko (54 million hryvnia per year or two million dollars), Opposition bloc (40 million hryvnia per year, or $ 1.5 million), “Party of the Sharia” (38 million hryvnia per year or $ 1.4 million), “Radical party of Oleg Lyashko” (34 million hryvnia per year or $ 1.3 million), “Ukrainian strategy Groisman” (27 million UAH a year, or about a million dollars) and “Freedom” (26 million per year).

Early parliamentary elections were held in Ukraine on July 21. The total turnout amounted to 49.84 per cent voters. After processing 50 percent of the ballots, the party of Vladimir Zelensky “servant of the people” can form a single-party majority, receiving 247 of 450 mandates.
