Belarus has introduced criminal responsibility for the justification of Nazism

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed the law on amendments to the criminal code (CC) of the country. It is reported by the presidential press service.

The changes affected the 130 article of the criminal code. Now she prescribes punishment till five years of imprisonment for “intentional acts aimed at inciting racial, national, religious enmity or discord, humiliation of national honor and dignity”, and “intentional acts of rehabilitation of Nazism.”

Also changes were made to article 328 of the criminal code providing for criminal liability for illegal drug trafficking. On this article for two years reduced the minimum punishment, it is now three and six years for large and extra large size respectively.

Earlier, Lukashenko said that Belarus over the 70 years has not recovered from the great Patriotic war. In this regard, he urged the West to be “more careful with human rights, democracy, and other criticism”, noting that much of the criticism is unfounded. However, Lukashenko noted that recent criticism of the Minsk became less. “But it’s not because they have more of a conscience there, there,” he said.
